This post was NOT supposed to be about brownie pops.
What I was trying to make was made from brownies though. I'm not sure what was going on that day, but when I say nothing went right, I mean NOTHING went right. Pretty soon, I was left with 2 batches of cut up brownies and a kitchen full of chaos.
I was a little more than frustrated. I stuffed all of the scrapage into ziploc baggies and left the kitchen in a huff.
Little good that did me, since *I* had to come back and clean up the chaosness.
Unfair.
I pondered what to do with wreckage that was these brownies, and the only thing that came to mind was Brownie Pops. I know that you've seen them on 1,520,146 sites by this point in time, but I decided to dress these lil guys up for Valentine's Day (or any day really) with a free printable.
So, yeah, cute, right? Quick and easy for your favorite sweetie.
And inexpensive, who doesn't love that??
For the brownie pops (in case there are a few noobs out there), just bake up a batch of Brownies (they can be from a box mix or homemade), allow to fully cool. Cut away any hard edges and use only the fudgey center. Roll into balls. Unlike with Cake Pops, you won't need icing mixed in. The brownies should be plenty moist to roll on their own (and if they aren't, get a new brownie recipe/mix STAT!).
Once you've rolled them into balls, dip lollipop sticks into melted chocolate and insert the balls. The best way to allow them to dry is buying cheap styrofoam sheets (like I show here) and inserting the lollipop sticks into it. After that is dry, dip the entire brownie pop in the chocolate. Lightly tap to get rid of excess chocolate, place back into the styrofoam to dry. Immediately add sprinkles.
Once dry, you can add your cute little flags. Here is what they look like

Sometimes failures work out for the best, because, seriously, who doesn't love Brownie Pops?
Happy Valentine's Day!
